you are probably asking yourself what, or who, is WOL. WOL is personified by an incredibly unique person with an inclusive movement. WOL is poised to bring about the seamless integration and socialization of the wheelchair lifestyle inspiration. Behind the brand is Mr. Robert Howell; suffering a spinal cord injury over 20 years ago, he shares his story below.

"I am Robert…

from the beautiful island nation of Jamaica. In 1997, I suffered a spinal cord injury resulting from a bullet wound in the neck. My level of injury is T1/ T2, rendering me wheelchair dependent for daily activities.

Living within a wheelchair capacity, I have realized that there is an increased need for awareness relating to public accessibility, as well as social interaction, throughout daily living. This necessity has become motivation, fueling a passion to initiate WOL as a lifestyle awareness campaign to promote inclusion.

WOL's purpose is not for the public to sympathize with wheelchair users, but to empathize with global needs for all individuals with a disability. Much more than a mission for empathy, WOL is on a mission of discovery. Discover some incredible things people may accomplish, help others with their challenges, and discover how we may collaborate for a positive change."

So, why Wheelie One Locks?

“The hair on my head has one single dreadlock, which I view as an extension of the positive attitude and energy that I harbor. Daily public interaction stimulates others to ask “Really One Locks?”, hence; WOL. The brand signifies my identity with one dreadlock, and the frequent conversations that lean towards “Why do you use a wheelchair?”
